On May 21st, a delightful cultural walk was organized, accompanied by our ITU TÖMER teachers, to help our students closely discover Istanbul's historical and cultural riches and practice Turkish in daily life.

The first stop on the excursion route was the Vefa neighborhood, which reflects the city's deep-rooted past. After tasting the traditional and famous Vefa boza there, our students visited the Süleymaniye Mosque. Taking plenty of souvenir photos accompanied by the unique view of the Bosphorus, our group had the opportunity to taste the classic flavors of Turkish cuisine with a menu of kuru fasulye (white beans), pilav (rice), and cacık at a famous restaurant around the mosque. The event concluded with relaxing cups of tea and sincere conversations together at a historic cafe.

This trip was so enjoyable for our students, who learned about Istanbul's cultural texture by experiencing it, that some of them even started taking their own guests on the exact same route.
