As ITU TÖMER, we continue our extracurricular activities with our students and teachers with full enthusiasm. As part of the June 18th World Picnic Day, and also serving as an end-of-year celebration, we came together at the ITU campus, the heart of nature, for a picnic event.

During our event, which began in beautiful spring weather, our students first had the opportunity to explore the unique nature of the ITU campus. Our group, who watched the ducks and water turtles during a walk to the campus pond and picked fresh mulberries, plums, and cherries from the trees, immortalized these delightful moments by taking plenty of photos.

Our picnic spread, set among the lush green trees, became the stage for a true feast of colors and cultures. Alongside the traditional delicacies our students brought from their home countries, we enjoyed a wonderful feast featuring the essentials of Turkish cuisine: kısır, börek, cheese, olives, and freshly brewed tea. After sharing meals, engaging in sincere conversations, and joyfully playing games, our students had fun to the fullest. Coming together outside the classroom not only made practicing Turkish much more natural and enjoyable but also further strengthened the bonds of friendship among us as the ITU TÖMER family.

Below, you can read the warm impressions penned by our students who participated in this unforgettable day:
