We participated in the "Workshop on Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language in the Age of Artificial Intelligence," organized by Yıldız Technical University TÖMER on December 1, 2025, representing İTÜ TÖMER and the İTÜ Natural Language Processing Research Group.
At the workshop, our Center’s Deputy Director, Lecturer Dr. Elif Sayar, presented the research titled "Learner Corpora and Error Analysis in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language." The presentation highlighted the importance of learner corpora in error detection and conveyed the opportunities offered by natural language processing (NLP) applications in error analysis processes.
Additionally, an original error taxonomy proposal was shared, bringing a new perspective to existing approaches. It was emphasized that this taxonomy has the potential to provide a universal and flexible framework by uniting error classifications used in different disciplines under a common roof.
