Xth INTERNATIONAL TURKISH LANGUAGE CONGRESS

We, as ITU TÖMER and the ITU Natural Language Processing Group, participated in the 10th International Turkish Language Congress organized by the Turkish Language Association, under the Department of Scientific Studies of the Atatürk High Institution of Culture, Language, and History, held in Ankara from September 26-27, 2024.

In the special session on "Turkish Natural Language Processing," chaired by Prof. Dr. Eşref Adalı, our Director, Prof. Dr. Gülşen Eryiğit, presented the paper titled “Inference of Turkish Linguistic Structures Using Natural Language Processing Methods,” while our Deputy Director, Instructor Dr. Elif Sayar, and NLP Group Member, Research Assistant Fatih Bektaş, presented “Applications of Natural Language Processing in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language.” Additionally, Instructor Dilara Torunoğlu Selamet shared her paper on “Collecting Turkish Language Resources Through Collective Collaboration.”

As ITU TÖMER and the ITU Natural Language Processing Group, we continue to contribute to the digitalization of language learning and teaching processes by developing interdisciplinary studies and collaborative projects in the field of teaching Turkish as a foreign/second language.
