Last Thursday, we held a vibrant Eid event with our A1, B1, and B2 level students in the daytime courses. First, our students shared holiday traditions from their own countries. Then, we introduced Turkish Eid customs by demonstrating practices like folding handkerchiefs and decorative napkins - traditions passed down from our elders. Together, we placed candies and coins inside folded napkins, exchanged cologne and candies in the traditional Turkish way, and observed the custom of showing respect to elders by kissing hands.

In the evening courses on the same day, we began by discussing Eid rituals in Turkey. We then celebrated together by distributing cologne and candies, and presented small gifts we had prepared for our students. We brewed traditional Turkish coffee slowly over low heat with rich foam, sharing this special moment together. As we sipped our coffee, we all felt the warm spirit of Eid.

Through these events, we aimed to help our students experience Turkish culture while bringing them closer together. At ITU TOMER, we continue to strengthen intercultural connections alongside language education!

We wish everyone a happy Eid, and many days filled with health, peace and happiness!
