On April 11, 2025, Istanbul Technical University's Ayazağa Campus hosted a productive search conference titled "Priority AI-Assisted Research in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language," organized by ITU TÖMER with the participation of leading academics in the field.

The conference aimed to evaluate the current state of AI-based applications in teaching Turkish as a foreign language, identify key challenges, and develop innovative solutions. Discussions also focused on fostering collaborative opportunities, data-sharing mechanisms, and strategic roadmaps for future research.

Structured as an interactive event, the conference consisted of four sessions. The first session analyzed the current landscape and emerging needs in the field. The second session generated creative AI-driven teaching solutions, while the third explored potential collaborations and data-sharing frameworks to implement these ideas. The final session established a strategic action plan to ensure practical and sustainable advancements.

Participants engaged in individual reflections followed by small-group discussions, allowing for in-depth idea development. Each session concluded with shared insights and collective evaluations. The conference yielded valuable outcomes that will guide future AI-assisted research in Turkish language education.

We extend our gratitude to all participants for their contributions and hope the ideas generated will inspire further innovation in teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
