Turkish language courses, which were previously held at ITU Continuing Education Center (CEC), will continue at TÖMER, which has been established in ITU Ayazağa Campus.
ITU TÖMER was established to enable especially our students at ITU, where thousands of students from all over the world study, and all our academic/administrative staff who want to use the Turkish language effectively in their social lives, to learn Turkish. The trainings to be provided in this context will not be limited to ITU students and staff, but will be open to anyone who wants to learn Turkish and increase their cultural interaction.
ITU TÖMER aims to provide an opportunity for international students and academic/administrative staff coming to our university with international bilateral protocols carried out by our university, exchange programs such as Erasmus and Mevlana, international projects such as EELISA European University, projects similar to the TÜBİTAK 2232 International Fellowship for Outstanding Researchers Program, to facilitate their communication with their environment in their daily lives, to get to know Turkish culture closely, to increase their cultural interactions, and to use Turkish effectively in an academic sense during their stay in our country through various Turkish language programs carried out by the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center.
The first Turkish lessons are planned to start on February 14, 2022, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşen Eryiğit, who was assigned as Director of ITU TÖMER, and a team of 6 people involved in both teaching and R&D.
